Gina Huynh, MPH

Associate Health Scientist

Gina T. Huynh is a research scientist, specializing in epidemiology, with experience applying population health analytical methods to identify the distribution and determinants of human health. Her work has focused on maternal and child health and infectious disease epidemiology. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in biochemistry and Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in epidemiology from the University of Washington. While pursuing her M.P.H., Ms. Huynh identified factors associated with adverse birth outcomes including spontaneous preterm birth at the Seattle Children’s Center for Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine. Her work involved integrating computational and epidemiologic analyses to identify potential environmental chemical risk factors and determine associations with preterm birth. Additionally, she has worked extensively with national survey data and is published on her investigation of cancer screening among survivors of intimate partner violence. Ms. Huynh has also led epidemiologic surveillance projects to identify trends of sexually transmitted infections among vulnerable and marginalized populations for the Snohomish County Health Department in Everett, Washington. Her work has been published and presented across national platforms, including scientific conferences and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

“I am dedicated to improving health equity and outcomes through rigorous, data-driven approaches. As a health scientist, I am thrilled to be part of this innovative interdisciplinary team focused on investigating crucial human health issues.”
